Opportunity design guide
Make opportunities easier to find
A pathway becomes useful when people can see who it is for, what it requires and what happens next.
State the starting point
Describe the experience, availability and skills needed. Separate essential requirements from things a person can learn while participating.
Explain the process
Publish the application steps, selection criteria, dates and contact route. Tell applicants when they can expect a response and how their work will be used.
Make the next step concrete
Offer a specific project, learning goal or role rather than a vague promise of exposure. Clarify responsibilities and compensation before work begins.
