Coaching guide

Coach with useful feedback

Helpful coaching turns observations into a small number of actions a player can practise and review.

Understand the goal

Ask about the player's role, experience, schedule and priorities. Agree on a specific area to improve rather than trying to solve every issue at once.

Give usable feedback

Show the moment, explain the decision and offer an alternative. Keep feedback focused on behaviour and choices, then check that the player understands the next action.

Review progress together

Use comparable examples over time. Keep what works, adjust what does not and protect the player's ability to ask questions without embarrassment.
